Dr. Bruce Smith founded his Michigan City practice in 1981 with a vision of providing exceptional dental care rooted in integrity, education, and lasting patient relationships. As dentistry evolved, so did the practice. In 2000, it became The Centre for Contemporary Dentistry as it’s still known today, reflecting an ongoing commitment to embracing modern techniques, innovative technology, and comprehensive care.
Dr. Michael Orrico joined the practice in 2007, bringing advanced training in implant, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry that further expanded the services available to patients.

Dr. Smith has been an active member of the Michigan City Rotary Club since 1982 and is a Paul Harris Fellow, while both he and Dr. Orrico proudly volunteer their expertise through Operation Stand Down, providing dental care to local veterans. Dr. Smith has also supported Indiana Donated Dental Services since its inception, helping expand access to care for those in need.
